What If My PRISM+ Smart Lock Runs Out of Battery While I'm Outside?

Don't panic. If your PRISM+ Smart Lock battery runs out while you're outside, there are several ways to regain access depending on your situation.

Refer to the scenario below that best matches your situation.

Scenario 1: Someone Is Home

If someone is inside your home, ask them to unlock the lock from the inside.

Scenario 2: You Have an Emergency Key

If you have your emergency key with you:

1. Use the emergency key to unlock your door or gate.
2. Once you are home, remove the battery from the smart lock.
3. Charge the battery overnight before reinstalling it.

Scenario 3: You Have a Portable Charger

If you have a portable charger (power bank) and a USB-A to USB-C cable:

Step 1

Connect the USB-C cable to the charging port located at the bottom of the smart lock.

Step 2

The lock will receive temporary power.

Step 3

Unlock the lock using any authorised access method, such as:

• Fingerprint
• PIN Code
• Other registered unlocking methods

Step 4

Once you are home, remove the battery and charge it overnight.

Scenario 4: You Don't Have an Emergency Key or Portable Charger

Option 1: Borrow a Portable Charger

Ask a neighbour if they have:

• A portable charger (power bank)
• A USB-A to USB-C cable

If available, connect it to the bottom of the smart lock and unlock the door using your registered fingerprint or PIN.
