Aircon Installation: What Happens After I Place My Order?

PRISM+ Support teamUpdated 24 August 2026~6 min remaining6 steps

After you purchase your air conditioner, the installation process typically takes 7–14 working days and follows these steps:

  1. Site Survey – We arrange a free visit to assess your home and installation requirements.
  2. Quotation – If additional materials or works are required, we will provide you with a quotation.
  3. Payment & Confirmation – Once any additional charges are approved and paid, we will confirm your installation date.
  4. Installation – Our installation team will install, test and hand over your air conditioning system.

Important: Your installation date can only be confirmed after the site survey has been completed and any applicable additional charges have been settled.

Steps

  1. 1
    1 min

Once your order is confirmed, our team will contact you to arrange a free site survey at a suitable date and time.

The site survey allows our surveyor to assess your home's layout and installation requirements before the installation takes place.

Why is a site survey required?

Every home is different. Factors such as pipe routing, wall type, outdoor unit access and electrical supply may affect the installation requirements.

Conducting a site survey beforehand helps us ensure that the installation team arrives with the appropriate materials and avoids unnecessary delays or rescheduling.

  2. 2
    1 min

The site survey usually takes approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour.

During the visit, the surveyor will:

    • Assess the intended locations for the indoor and outdoor units.
    • Check wall types, ceiling height and access to the outdoor ledge or condenser area.
    • Review the existing electrical supply and accessibility of the electrical distribution board (DB box).
    • Discuss your preferred unit placement and piping or trunking route.
    • Identify any additional materials or installation works that may be required.
    • Confirm what installation options are possible for your property.
    • Answer any questions you may have about the installation.

Please note that the site survey is for assessment and planning only. No installation, drilling or fitting will be carried out during this visit.

Do I need to be present?

Yes. Someone who is able to make decisions regarding the property should be present during the survey, as the surveyor may need to discuss unit placement and piping routes with you.

If you are renting the property, please check with your landlord before the survey.

    How should I prepare?

    Before the survey, please ensure:

    • Clear access to the intended indoor unit locations.
    • Access to the outdoor ledge or condenser area.
    • Your electrical distribution board (DB box) is accessible.
    • You have considered your preferred unit locations and piping route.
    • Any required approvals from your property management or relevant authorities have been obtained, where applicable.

For condominiums, apartments and other managed properties, please check with your management office regarding any required permits, restrictions on external installations or permitted working hours.

For HDB properties, approval may be required depending on the installation works involved. If approval is required, it should be obtained before installation can proceed.

  3. 3
    1 min

Your purchase includes a standard installation package. However, additional charges may apply if your home's installation requirements exceed the standard scope.

    Examples may include:

    • Additional piping or trunking beyond the standard length provided.
    • Wall hacking, concrete drilling or reinstatement works.
    • Electrical upgrades or additional power points.
    • Additional brackets or mounting works.
    • Access equipment required for difficult-to-reach outdoor units.
    • Additional requirements for condominium, private apartment or landed properties.

If additional works are required, we will provide you with a written quotation detailing the applicable materials and charges.

No additional works will be carried out without your approval.

What if I do not want to proceed with the additional works?

Please speak with our team or surveyor. Depending on the requirement, there may be alternative solutions available. However, some works may be necessary to ensure the air conditioning system can be installed safely and function properly.

You will be informed of which requirements are mandatory and which are optional.

What if I decide not to proceed with the installation?

You may inform our surveyor or contact our team. If you decide not to proceed, the amount paid for your order will be refunded.

  4. 4
    1 min

Once the site survey has been completed and payment for any applicable additional charges has been received, our scheduling team will arrange and confirm your installation date.

We will offer available installation slots based on our team's availability.

Please note that installations are not carried out on Sundays.

    Can I reschedule my installation?

Yes. Please inform us at least 48 hours in advance if you need to reschedule your installation.

Additional charges may apply for late rescheduling.

  5. 5
    1 min

Installation typically takes one full day.

For more complex installations, the work may take longer or require multiple days. If this is expected, you will be informed beforehand.

    Our installation team will generally:

    1. Confirm the agreed installation plan with you.
    2. Prepare and protect the work area where required.
    3. Install and secure the indoor and outdoor units.
    4. Install the refrigerant piping, drainage and trunking along the agreed route.
    5. Connect the system to the electrical supply.
    6. Carry out pressure testing and vacuuming to check the system.
    7. Test the air conditioning units for cooling and drainage.
    8. Clean up the work area and hand over the completed system.

Do I need to be home during the installation?

Yes. Someone aged 18 or above must be present to provide access to the property and complete the handover at the end of the installation.

Will the installation be noisy or dusty?

Some drilling and installation work may create noise and dust.

Our team will take reasonable precautions to protect the work area and clean up after the installation. However, we recommend moving or protecting fragile items, artwork and other sensitive belongings before the team arrives.

Please also keep pets in a separate and secure room during the installation.

How should I prepare for installation day?

    Before our team arrives, please:

    • Clear the areas where the indoor and outdoor units will be installed.
    • Ensure there is clear access to the outdoor ledge or condenser area.
    • Move fragile or valuable items away from the work areas.
    • Keep pets in a separate closed room.
    • Arrange lift access or loading bay access if required by your building management.
  6. 6
    1 min

Once the installation is completed, our team will:

    • Demonstrate the basic operation of your air conditioning system.
    • Show you the relevant controls and basic maintenance points.
    • Test the units to ensure they are cooling and draining correctly.

We recommend that you test each unit before the installation is signed off and inform the installation team immediately if you notice anything you are unhappy with.
