After your refrigerator has been delivered or moved, wait at least 4 hours before switching it on.

This allows the refrigerant and compressor oil to settle properly after transportation, helping your refrigerator operate safely and efficiently.

Waiting 4 hours helps protect the compressor and ensures optimal cooling performance.

Why Is Waiting Important?

During transportation or installation, the refrigerator may be tilted or moved at different angles.

This can cause the compressor oil to flow into the refrigerant lines.

If the refrigerator is switched on immediately:

  • The compressor may not operate efficiently.
  • Cooling performance may be affected.
  • In rare cases, unnecessary strain could be placed on the cooling system.

Allowing the refrigerator to stand upright for at least 4 hours gives the oil enough time to return to the compressor before operation.

What Should I Do After Installation?

Follow these simple steps before using your refrigerator:

StepWhat to Do
1Place the refrigerator in its final position.
2Leave it standing upright for at least 4 hours.
3Plug the refrigerator into a power outlet.
4Turn it on and set your preferred temperature.
5Allow the refrigerator to cool before storing food and drinks.

When Can I Put Food Inside?

For the best cooling performance:

  • Wait until the refrigerator has reached the desired temperature before loading it with food.
  • This may take several hours depending on the model and room temperature.

Recommended temperature settings:

CompartmentRecommended Temperature
Refrigerator3°C – 5°C
Freezer-18°C

The refrigerator may still work, but switching it on immediately after transportation can place unnecessary stress on the compressor and cooling system. Waiting 4 hours helps ensure reliable operation and long-term performance.
